If you want your hat to be part of your outfit, wear that outfit somewhere hats are acceptable--Sunday brunch, to the airport, out shopping, over to a friend's house. Think about it the way you think about a wool winter scarf. They can be really cute with a blazer and totally acceptable indoors, but you wouldn't sit down to a board meeting with one on, would you?
