‘You might not even marry him’ – Mother’s message to her son’s girlfriend trends online

A screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between a lady and her boyfriend’s mother has recently surfaced online, where the older woman told her to “stop trying too hard”, and many netizens had things to say.

It was Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 19, and the lady thanked her lover’s mum on WhatsApp for giving birth to the young man whom she described as “lovely”.

In her message, the lady stated that if she had been nearby, she would have stopped by to spend time with the mother and most likely made her a special meal.

Her boyfriend’s mother, on the other hand, was not having it; she warned the lady that she was not yet her daughter-in-law and that she should not claim her son.
