Meanwhile, had Costner and Sheridan shown up, it would have presented a united front for the series, which has faced much speculation in recent months. In February, sources told Variety that Costner might be leaving the show, and Deadline reported that Matthew McConaughey could be coming in to star in his own spin-off.
It's worth noting that nothing has been confirmed, and a Paramount spokesperson told press at the time that its lead actor is a big part of the series and it hope that's the case for a long time.
Meanwhile, as of Monday, April 3, Costner has not posted on his Instagram to offer comment, and the official Yellowstone Instagram account did not cover the PaleyFest event on its main feed. The Paley Center has not released any info about refunds for guests.
Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the country. Per the official description, “amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect—the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders—an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.”
We'll update this post if more information becomes available.
