Xerneas Weakness Pokemon GO - Raid Guide and Best Counters May 2021

We’re now into the final month of what has been an incredibly busy season in Pokemon GO.

The Season of Legends has, at times, felt like an intense bombardment of events, with one finishing and another starting a few days later.

However, as we move into May, we have arguably the best events of the whole season with Luminous Legends X and Y taking place.

This event brings a whole range of new Pokemon, including, two exciting new legendaries. With that in mind, let’s take a look and see if Xerneas has a weakness we can exploit in Pokemon GO.

Xerneas only has two weaknesses in Pokemon and they are quite interesting ones.

Normally, you’re likely to bring the usual Water/Fire/Fighting-types to battle, however, Xerneas will shake that up with only Poison and Steel-type weaknesses to exploit.

Best Counters to Exploit Xerneas’ Weakness in Pokemon GO

Whilst Poison and Steel-type Pokemon aren’t the most common, or conventional, there are still a range of really good counters for this battle.

In terms of Mega Pokemon, there are two that are worth considering in Xerneas raids, they are Mega Gengar and Mega Beedrill.

Following those, you’re most likely going to want to bulk your party out with Steel-types. The best options here are Metagross, Dialga, Genesect and Excadrill.

In terms of Poison-types, Gengar and Roserade present good options.

• ROSERADE – Poison Jab/Sludge Bomb

Xerneas could prove to be a particularly difficult battle so it’s recommended that a minimum of 4-5 trainers take part in the raid.

How Long Will Xerneas be in Raids?

Xerneas will be in raids for approximately two weeks as part of the Luminous Legends X event. It joins on May 4 and will be leaving on May 17, being replaced by Yveltal on May 18.
