This wave of new additions is probably the best we've seen in a while and includes plenty of surprises. Kicking things off we have steampunk narrative adventure game Close to the Sun, which is now available to play with Game Pass.
Next up on January 4 is Hell Let Loose, which will be popular among those who are looking for a hardcore multiplayer first-person shooter. However, the achievement list, which will likely take you around 100 hours to complete, is a bit of a slog — you have been warned. Speaking of lengthy completions, Assassin's Creed Valhalla also has a monster of an achievement list and will join the service along with Figment: Journey Into the Mind on January 9. Estimates suggest you'll need between 100 and 120 hours just for Valhalla's base list.
Then, on January 11, Super Mega Baseball 4 joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass via EA Play, which will surely be good news for all the baseball heads out there. Again, this one looks to have a beast of an achievement list. We Happy Few also returns to the service on the same day after leaving back in January 2023.
Finally on January 16, Resident Evil 2 and Those Who Remain join Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass. According to estimates, you'll need around 30 hours for the Resi 2 completion and around ten hours for Those Who Remain.
As for games set to leave the service, Microsoft confirmed that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and two more games will drop out of Xbox Game Pass on January 15.
