Wizkid and I are the original creators of new Afrobeat sound – Samklef

Samuel Oguachuba, also known as Samklef, a Nigerian music producer and musician, has stated that he and Ayo Balogun, better known as Wizkid are the “original creators of the new afrobeat sound.”

The “Noni” crooner made the announcement on Thursday via his Twitter.

Anyone who questions his allegation should look it up on Google, he said.

He captioned a throwback photo of himself and Wizkid, “The original creators of the new Afrobeat sound! Nack ur head for wall when u see this post. Samklef x Wizkid. Go do your home work guys. Google is there to help you. Aw! Aw!”

Samklef also responded to Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, aka Davido’s allegation that he [Davido] and Wizkid were the first young Nigerian artists to achieve popularity in another tweet.

According to the producer, Wizkid and Olamide were actually the first to break through in the Nigerian music industry.

Samklef captioned a photo of Wizkid and Olamide, “The two street kids who started the game. Others joined them. Samklef dey talk am as e be.”
