There will be some Southwestern Indiana flavor on this year's MLB All-Star Futures Game roster.

Southridge graduate Colson Montgomery was selected on Tuesday as an infielder for the American League. The 22-year-old plays for the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate for the Chicago White Sox, and is hitting .213 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs, six stolen bases and a .707 OPS.

Many eventual MLB stars have played in the All-Stars Futures Game since its inception in 1999, such as Miguel Cabrera, Clayton Kershaw, Mike Trout, Gerrit Cole and others. Montgomery is the top prospect in the White Sox organization and considered the 16th-best across MLB.

The All-Star Futures Game, which takes place July 13 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, will be televised at 3 p.m. CDT on the MLB Network.
