MOORESVILLE, Ind. (WTHR) — A Mooresville family orchard is celebrating 50 years in business.

Anderson Orchard has grown to 150 acres of apples, red raspberries, various nuts, pumpkins, peaches, pears and plums since it opened in 1969.

There are currently five apple varieties available at the orchard:

  • Cortland
  • Gala
  • Golden Supreme
  • Early Fuji
  • Michigan Honey Crisp

Anderson Orchard offers the unique experience of picking your own produce.

Along with apples, the orchard also sells Indiana-grown produce, such as tomatoes, vegetables, peppers, pears, sweet corn, and green beans.

The concession stand offers refreshments like caramel apples, fried apple pies, apple butter, apple cider and apple cider slush.

There's plenty to do for kids, too. Keep them entertained on hayrides, the playground, and atop the straw pile.

Kick off the first weekend of fall at the Craft Fair & Apple Festival Sept. 28 and 29. The orchard will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and crafts will take place each day between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Festival features include:

  • 50+ crafters
