The Turkey Leg Hut owners divorce drama latest update is now out

Just recently, Nakia Holmes, who owns a popular restaurant called “Turkey Leg Hut”, took to Instagram to speak out about her marriage problems and to accuse her husband Lynn Price of “gaslighting” and emotional abuse.

The couple is currently in the middle of a legal battle after Nakia filed for divorce back in May 2023.

The famous restaurant made headlines back in 2021 for having a very intricate and strict dress code for customers.

Turkey Leg Hut is a popular restaurant in Houston, Texas, which Nakia Holmes now solely owns. Nakia and Lynn initially launched the business at the Houston Rodeo back in 2015, selling their signature turkey legs. Eventually, the business gained traction as several A-list celebrities like Kevin Hart, Stephen Jackson, and Deion Sanders all stopped by the venue to try out the wonderful recipe.

Nakia Holmes speaks out about her marriage

Just recently, Nakia Holmes decided to finally speak out about her marriage on her private Instagram account. She described her marriage, saying:

I am living in hell on earth. The abuse, the manipulation, the lies, the deceit, the gaslighting, and narcissism have become unbearable. We are literally in a fight for our peace and sanity”

Nakia Holmes also shared how her children have also been thrown into the mix and how she and the children know her husband as a cruel, emotionally and mentally abusive person who is completely void of emotion. She revealed how the family is literally in a fight for peace and sanity from the time they wake up until the time they close their eyes each night. While sharing the reason behind her choosing to come forward, Nakia said:

TODAY, I am finally choosing me. I’ll die behind this truth and I’ll lose everything to finally have peace. I brought light to his life, while he came into mine to destroy not only me but all who love me. I’m finally closing this chapter.”

Lynn Price faces multiples accusations

Nakia Holmes has placed multiple charges against her husband, Lynn Price, including abuse. According to Nakia, she was worried that Lynn would commit “family violence”. According to the official court documents, employees of Turkey Leg Hut were “terrified and frightened” of Price’s behavior. Moreover, according to the allegations, Lynn Price also stole money from the restaurant register for his own personal use, besides writing checks of over a thousand dollars to his own name. Price has also allegedly resorted to threatening an assistant with physical assault in the past.

Turkey Leg Hut’s infamous dress code

Back in 2021, Turkey Leg Hut made headlines for setting a very strict and demanding dress code which required customers to not wear “excessively revealing clothing.” The dress code also denied people to wear- “wave caps, du-rags, house shoes or shower caps.” It also banned exposure to sports bras and private intimates. Moreover, the restaurant also banned customers from wearing baggy clothing and use of obscene language on clothing.

Around November 2022, Holmes shared about the dress code in an interview, stating that they have put up the strict dress code because kids often come to the restaurant from time to time. She said that women with no clothes on, often sit around and twerk, which is not a scene for kids. Meanwhile, Nakia Holmes also shared how women these days seemed to have lost their “self-respect” because of such behaviors.
