Returning Cast and Staff

The beloved cast of the first season will be reprising their roles in the second season. Natsuki Hanae, Ayane Sakura, Akari Kitō, and Kenjiro Tsuda will lend their voices to Makoto Misumi, Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki, respectively.

A Talented Team at the Helm

Shinji Ishihira, known for his work on popular series like Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, and Super Lovers, will be returning as the director for the second season. Series composition will once again be handled by Kenta Ihara, who has previously worked on noteworthy anime titles such as Saga of Tanya the Evil, Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious, and The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter. The character designs will be beautifully brought to life by Yukie Suzuki, and the music will be composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, adding depth and emotion to the series.

The First Season and International Distribution

The first season of Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- premiered in July 2021. This anime marked a significant milestone for NTV, as it was the inaugural production of their Anime Department.

NTV describes the anime as follows:

Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school student leading a regular life, suddenly finds himself summoned to another world to fulfill the role of a “hero.” However, the goddess of this new world ridicules him for his differences and strips him of his “hero” title, banishing him to the untamed wilderness on the world’s edge. As Makoto ventures through this unknown land, he encounters dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and various other non-human tribes. Thanks to his unique origins, Makoto possesses incredible magical powers and combat skills. The story delves into his journey as he strives to create a better world despite the indifference of humans and gods alike.

The anime secured global distribution rights, excluding Asia, through Crunchyroll. Additionally, NTV has partnered with MediaLink Entertainment Limited’s Ani-One Asia streaming channel and the Aniplus Asia television channel to distribute the series in Asia. The anime is set to debut shortly after its broadcast in Japan on these platforms. With these partnerships, the anime will reach over 200 countries and territories.
