True Dating Confession: I've Never Been With a Guy Who Had Tattoos

The other day we received a fun little request from a loyal reader named Katie. She emailed asking if we could talk about tattoos and guys. Ask and you shall receive my dear!
I think tattoos are pretty hot. Especially unique ones with deeply personal meanings. There's just something so intriguing about a person who feels so passionately about something that they decide to permanently mark their bodies. But that's just me. Some folks aren't too fond of tattoos.
Despite my inky love, I've never even been on a date with a tattooed fellow! I'm fairly certain some exes now have tattoos but during our time together, their bodies were free of artwork. My husband often talks about getting a tattoo but he hasn't settled on a design.
I have a tattoo—have I told you dolls that before? My best friend and I got matching hibiscus flower tattoos when were 19. It's on the right side of my lower back. If I didn't have it already, I don't think I'd head to the tattoo shop with the same enthusiasm I had back then. Though, I can't imagine ever having it removed. On one hand, I hardly ever see it so sometimes I forget I have it. And more importantly, it reminds me of such a carefree and special time in my life.
After I got it and it healed, the guy I was seeing was mesmerized by it. He would always want to look at it. And once while hanging around friends I jokingly said that a tattoo was like a conversation piece. One random drunk guy said something like, "Well, how about we start a conversation." Uh, no.
The coolest tattoo I ever saw was on a bartender's hand. It was a simple puzzle piece. When I asked him about it, he said his wife has the complimentary puzzle piece tattooed on her opposite hand. Isn't that creative?!
