As expected by everyone in the NASCAR community the premier Stock car racing organization has announced the penalty for the No:17 RFK Racing team after the wheel of Chris Buescher came off during the race. This has marked the 11th such incident in which NASCAR has been forced to act upon and penalize the crew chief along with his crew for wheel infractions.
Chris Buescher, who finished P30 in Ally 400, was subjected to the penalty after the incident in lap 225 where he started experiencing some troubles before losing the wheel at turn 4 as he made minor contact with the wall. Buescher limped his way back to the pit road in hopes of continuing his race while the wheel rolled down the front stretch.
As expected, Chris Buescher crew chief Scott Graves, rear tire changer Seth Gajdorus and jackman Matthew Wilps suspended four races for wheel coming off at Nashville.

The continuing single-wheel nut trouble, which has been hurting all the teams irrespective of their size and competitions badly, now has brought in an automatic four-week suspension for the RFK Team as Buescher’s crew chief Scott Graves and crew members Matthew Wilps and Seth Gajdorus have been suspended for four races. They will only be able to join back with the team after the Poccano outing at the end of July.
How NASCAR Twitter reacted to the penalty
The growing impatience among the fans on the ever-continuing wheel infractions was evident in fans’ reaction to the penalty as it has been among the worst impact the Cup series team is facing in the newly brought-in changes. The wheel trouble has been the go-to criticism for fans who are against the radical changes that have been introduced to the sport and if NASCAR isn’t going to do anything to solve the issue at hand their numbers will surely be growing.
This is so embarrassing for @NASCAR So many reasons why. There is no reason to punish the teams for a product Nascar gave them that is complicated and has issues. Make them sit on pit road for a lap, but these 4 race suspensions are really bad🤦🏻♂️

It's not complicated… just go a little slower and it won't happen lol. Like remember 4 or so years ago? Teams were getting loose wheels left and right forcing them to pit or get fined. Only different is the wheel comes off. Yes worse consequences but not new or nascars fault.

Tell the teams to stop messing up. Its the teams fault, not Nascars. There has to be harsh penalities considering the danage that could happen if a wheel comes off

Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is embarrassing.

This is getting ridiculous.

Go back to 5 lugs and quit trying to be F-1 and Indy car. The cars and the racing are different. Maybe next year nascar should put air jacks on the cars and take fenders off, it could be more like open wheel racing then.

Guess teams need to just be better. Dropped Jack before tire was tight guaranteed to come off

make a shitty wheel
— A G (@angrygrackle) June 29, 2022
they keep coming off
penalize crew chiefs
thanks nascar, you're fun
Still feel like that’s a harsh penalty

Goodyear sucks, Nascar never admits anything is there fault and the teams always get all the blame but no nutless sheep in Nascar will tell them that
