Allen Lazard was in splendid form when the Packers were victorious against the Dolphins in their most recent game. The Packers WR was instrumental in their 26-20 win against their foes, which also improved their chances for qualifying in the playoffs.
Lazard made an incredible block in the 4th Quarter where he tackled around 4 Dolphins’ defenders and started counting them while they were down. The block was critical for the Packers’ win. However, the NFL didn’t look at it that way and levied a massive $10,609 fine on the WR for ‘taunting’.
The league took an issue with the Lazard celebration, where he pointed at the players as it resembled the same celebration done by Eagles receiver AJ Brown, who was also fined $10k for pointing at the players in the opposing team.
“[It was] a huge play and a huge block that Allen had on that play. That’s what we do. It’s about more than just catching passes,” Packers receiver Randall Cobb said to Packers.com. “It’s about being a complete receiver in this offense.” Lazard is having a breakthrough season with the Packers and even the fans recognise it.

Lazard did an epic job according to many on social media and didn’t deserve to be fined the way he was. The WR did a great job and was boasting about it. There are a lot of celebrations done by the players that go unnoticed by the highly offensive league.
According to many people, it wasn’t a big deal as the 27-year-old WR was just counting the number of players that he tackled and got the better off. Therefore, that doesn’t warrant a fine and the NFL should look into its different policies and regulations.
The NFL was brutally slammed on Twitter, as many didn’t agree with the league’s decision. Take a look at some of the interesting reactions down below.
Pathetic… that doesn’t warrant a fine. The NFL is a joke today… He took out three guys with that block; all he did was count them 1,2,3💁🏾

Team should give him a bonus of double that amount.

Allen Lazard has contributed a lot to the struggling Packers team after the departure of their star WR Davante Adams. The Aaron Rodgers-led team is pushing for a playoff spot at the dying end of the season. Although, they will need a helping hand from the Browns who will need to defeat the Commanders to guarantee their spot.
