The Hierophant -

The masculine counterpart to The High Priestess is a very religious figure, sometimes called The High Priest. Like The Magician pointing up to the universe, The Hierophant also has a hand raised in benediction. However, where The Magician is surrounded by nature, The Hierophant sits before man and sits in a man-made religious building. This shows that he does not solely draw power from the universe but from the masses. Therefore, The Hierophant suggests adhering to social norms, religion, and entrance into public institutions.
