SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake sees the titular hero and Patrick go on a bunch of adventures after the pair get their hands on wish-granting Mermaid's Tears, and it's coming to Xbox in January.

While we don't have the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake achievements just yet, THQ has announced that the game will be launching on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on January 31st, 2023, and preorders are now live.

Preorders are now live for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Developed by Purple Lamp Studios, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a platform game that sees SpongeBob and Patrick partake in adventures filled with cowboys, knights, pirates, and more when they get hold of some wish-granting Mermaid's Tears — well, Patrick is a balloon, so it's mostly SpongeBob who gets hold of the magical fluid. The tears allow them to travel to seven realms known as Wishworlds dressed in all manner of funky costumes, upgrade their platforming skills, meet characters from the show voiced by their original actors, and jam to 101 songs from the series.SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Wish-granting Mermaid’s Tears in the hands of SpongeBob and Patrick… What could go wrong? Sure, the very fabric holding the universe together could come undone, opening portals into wild Wishworlds. But that’s nothing our favorite sponge can’t handle- with the right cosmic costume!

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake launches on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on January 31st, 2023. Preorders are now live for both the Standard and BFF Editions of the game, the latter of which is a physical collector's edition featuring a 25cm/9.8" statue, an inflatable Patrick, BFF Amulet with necklace, four costume miniature bouncy balls, four placemats, a copy of the game, and a DLC pack offering in-game costumes.

Will you be travelling to the Wishworlds in January, or will you still be working through the large number of games coming to Game Pass? Drop a comment below and let us know!
