Giving up stardom during the peak of one’s career to make a big shift is not an easy task, and involves a lot of risk-taking as well. Mark Wahlberg took this plunge recently by moving out of Hollywood to Las Vegas, Nevada with his family, to pursue his dream of funding a chain of restaurants.

The Oscar-nominated actor who recently celebrated the opening of his second Wahlburger’s restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, spoke of the positive impact that the relocation had on his life and that of his children. In addition to becoming a businessman and restaurateur, Wahlberg will also put his movie expertise to good use by working towards creating a film studio in Las Vegas, which will generate a whole new set of job opportunities in the field.

Mark Wahlberg’s Las Vegas Film Studio Will Benefit Thousands Of People

Apart from uprooting his life along with his family to pursue his business dream, Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg also has ambitious ideas for creating job opportunities through cinema. The Departed actor revealed he was hoping to enlist the help of Nevada’s newly elected Republican Governor, Joe Lombardo to create a film studio in Las Vegas.

The main aim of this venture apart from promoting cinema, is to create substantial jobs for people in the entertainment industry, which will also include significant paychecks and first-hand experience in all aspects of filmmaking. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Wahlberg elaborated on his plans and said,

“So we’re looking to create 10,000 jobs on the studio alone. The average salary would be $100,000 more than what it is now. We want to train people both in front of and behind the camera, create jobs, most importantly, first and foremost, for locals.”

The Father Stu actor also revealed that housing in Nevada was significantly cheaper and tax-free, thereby attracting many people to make the move along with the added incentive of excellent pay.

Why Moving To Las Vegas Was Good For Mark Wahlberg and His Family

Leaving the glitz and glamor of Hollywood to shift to Las Vegas, Nevada, was a big decision that Mark Wahlberg made in the fall of 2022. The actor, who weighed the pros and cons of the move, confessed that he had the best interests of his family in mind.

Speaking of giving his children a different life experience from what they had seen thus far, Wahlberg revealed that Las Vegas offered diverse options for people from different walks of society to thrive. In an interview with Fox News Digital, the Boogie Nights actor said,

“It just has the best of both worlds. I know a lot of people, when they think Las Vegas, they think the Strip. But just about 15, 20 minutes away, there’s a whole lot of other amazing areas that are all about family and community.”

While Wahlberg’s three children were given the opportunity to pursue their individual dreams, Las Vegas also offered the actor a chance to explore his creativity beyond cinema by becoming a successful restaurateur.
