Our favorite Indiana restaurant has to be Cosmos in Fort Wayne.  A Greek family owns the restaurant and opened the facility on Coliseum Boulevard on Fort Wayne's east side a few years ago.  The family has offered free Thanksgiving's Day dinners for anyone coming into their restaurant that day as a "thank you" for the city of Fort Wayne and this country.
Whenever you enter the restaurant, you usually have a glass of water waiting at your table before you get there.  The meals, regardless of what you order, are wonderfully presented and for the healthy appetite.  One of the owners, or one of their family, will be around at least once during your meal to see if everything is adequate.  Usually you walk out with part of your meal because the portions are not for dieters.
Whenever we go to Fort Wayne, where we used to live, we always eat there. The atmosphere, the people and the food are all absolutely wonderful.

Hi. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant is Dufours In Irvington, located at 5648 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. Everything my wife and I have ever eaten there is a taste treat. Anyone in Indianapolis who has never eaten there, should. The breakfasts, desserts, and special monthly summer's eve dinners melt in our mouths.

In Fairmount, Ind. there is a small cafe. It was known as "The Legend", but has been changed to the "Quaker Inn", they serve real good food. I know because I have stopped by there many times. Especially when there is a little gray hair women cooking. What I have been told, that she was the best cook in the area and use to cook at "The Outpost" years ago, that is at 9 and 26, just west of town.

For all those in the Muncie,New castle area I have to say that The Blue Moon Restraunt located in Losantville just east of the intersection of 35&36.We enjoy the just like home cooking with pan fried potatoes and wonderful bisciuts and gravy. The pancakes are out of this world ,But a word of warning ,the pancakes are as large as a dinner plate,I have never been able to eat more then one.And the prices are very reasonable so that the average family can enjoy a very good meal, real home cooking on a budget.I suggest everyone try it,IT'S worth the drive!!!

Chuck's Soul Food - good old fashioned cooking.  The best collard greens anywhere, fried corn bread, barbeque.  You will never go away hungry.   Grandma and Mom do most of the cooking - Chuck does the grilling.  You walk in and the family knows you by name.

Actually, there are two downtown favorites...the one for breakfast is the Canary Cafe.  On week-ends, unless you rise early, there will be a wait.   The second is English Ivy for business lunch or a fantastic dinner.  The food is top notch with a special each evening...usually, it is packed every night of the week with a lively bar area.  This is an adult eatery, unfortunatly, no children.

My favorite is the Blue Bird in Morristown, Indiana.  The fried chicken is more than just a delight. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm GOOD !  Takes me back to my younger days at my aunts in Amo, Indiana at family reunions.  Fried chicken is a standard fare of rural Indiana.  Ahhhhhh green beans, sliced tomatoes; either plain or in a pickery bath of vinegar with onions and cucumber, taters, etc., with Devil's Food cake for desert.
