It is a direct sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), delving deep into the titans’ world, their origins, and the new adventures the movie will unfold in front of the audience. However, the new update is not sitting well with fans.

Fans are Not Happy With Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire‘s Runtime
Insider Cryptic HD Quality has revealed the runtime of MonsterVerse’s Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire which currently stands at 1 hour and 55 minutes. Since it is the franchise’s exclusive return on the big screen featuring fan favorite titans and the mayhem it will bring in the MonsterVerse, fans had a different image in mind.

Many couldn’t help but wonder why the movie had a short runtime. However, its predecessor also featured a similar runtime to the upcoming movie as the former is just 2 minutes less than its sequel. Given that the MonsterVerse holds immense potential, having a runtime of over 2 hours is something some fans are truly waiting for, which is still a hope given that the final runtime is yet to be announced.
Will Godzilla and Kong Team Up Again in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire?
The 2021 movie follows Godzilla and King Kong coming together for a face-off. Initially, the duo are busy fighting each other, but later in the movie, they ally to take down Mechagodzilla, a telepathically controlled beast with the severed head of Ghidorah.
Its sequel is going to follow the same path with the Titans teaming up once again to face off a new formidable threat that can destroy the civilization.
Speaking about the new antagonist, director Adam Wingard told IGN,
“We wanted to come up with an antagonist that would both be a match for Kong and Godzilla, and that’s really hard to do. There’s a lot more to this character and how he’s a threat, and that’s going to be something that’s going to be fun to kind of dole out.”
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is coming to the theaters on April 12, 2024.
