Paxton buys Quayle family newspaper

Huntington - The family of former Vice President Dan Quayle has sold its newspaper holdings to Paxton Media Group. That ends more than 70 years of ownership of the northeastern Indiana daily.

Terms of the sale of Huntington Newspapers were not disclosed.

Michael Quayle is president of Huntington Newspapers and Dan Quayle's brother.

The

Huntington Herald-Press

becomes the 30th daily newspaper in the Paducah, Kentucky-based Paxton group, which owns nine newspapers in Indiana and others in North Carolina, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi and Tennessee.
