God took our wife, mother, grandmother, relative and friend peacefully into heaven on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at her home in Anaconda with her family by her side. Patricia has been battling cancer for 20 years and fought until the end.

Patricia Ann “Pat” was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Anoka, Minn., to Delmer LaMont and Dolores Lillian (Carlson) Bradway. She had two brothers, David Allen and Darrell Lee Bradway. Her father worked construction and moved the family from state to state before settling in Anaconda in October of 1963.

Pat graduated from Anaconda High School in 1964. She went to Yakima Junior College before transferring to Western Montana College and earning a Bachelor of Science in education in 1969. Pat began teaching first and fifth grade in September 1969 at the Bryan School. She loved all children.

On Dec. 22, 1973, Pat married Michael Thomas Ricci at St. Peters Catholic Church. They have two children together, Michael Patrick Ricci and Amanda Michelle Ricci and two grandchildren, Elijah Michael Ricci and Ethan James Ricci. Pat loved her family and dog Lucy. She continued teaching, first grade at Washington School in 1976, and first second and third grade at Dwyer Primary. Pat retired after 33 years in education.

Pat began working with the Anaconda Catholic Community in August of 2001. She was devoted to the church and caring for others. Pat worked with the RE Program and RCIA Process. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing board games, laughing and joking, and late night heart-to-hearts. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, enjoyed scrapbooking, baking, reading mysteries and the Bible, and continuing her faith with God.

Her grandparents, Emma and Ernest Carlson and Clarence and Florence Bradway and an infant brother Lamont preceded her in death.

Pat is survived by her husband, Michael of Anaconda; children, Michael (Jami) Ricci and Amanda (Zack) Stajcar; grandchildren, Elijah and Ethan; parents, Delmer and Dolores Bradway; brothers, David (Sue) Bradway and Darrell Bradway; and numerous other family and friends.

Memorials are requested to Project Care or the Anaconda Catholic Luncheon Committee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. The vigil service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m.

Cremation will follow the Mass, and the Rite of Committal Service will be held Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Mount Olivet Cemetery at 10 a.m.

Pat was my fifth-grade teacher in 1973 at the Bryan School, and I remember her fondly. She really did love teaching, although maybe not spelling :)) but I remember her kindness and even some of our class projects. I appreciate her thoughtfulness and think she stood out as one of the kindest and most fair teachers at the Bryan School. Teachers like Pat make a difference in the lives of their students, and many of them will be remembering her now.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.
