Amidst ongoing merger controversies, LIV Golfers Matthew Wolff and Brooks Koepka’s social war further causes a rift between teammates in a “heartbreaking” showdown. The 24-year-old American golfer called out his Smash GC team captain Koepka following a scathing remark on his performance earlier this week.

Wolff marked Koepka’s harsh criticism as “beyond disappointing”, stating this shouldn’t be a remark who calls himself a team captain. Earlier Koepka commented that he’s “basically given up on him” and labeled Wolff’s talent as “wasted”.

Koepka further criticized his own teammate stating that it’s not easy to uphold the team dynamic when a player doesn’t give his all despite possessing innate talent. Wolff documented his mental health as the issue, stating he’s working on it and has definitely made progress on the field.

According to Smash GC captain, Matthew Wolff’s attitude on the field is the issue. He’s the only “one guy that won’t work” and even in some cases is not putting any effort into the game.

As per Brooks Koepka, there were even times when Wolff was willing to “quit on the course” and even have “bad body language” on the field. Although the American golfer stated that he was trying to win the long game, his efforts on the field failed to show any results.

Koepka’s remarks caught social media on fire, as no one expected Koepka to wolf down Wolff prior LIV Golf event. Although Wolff’s meteoric rise in 2019 gained attention, he failed to keep up his performance in 2022.

Matthew Wolff thinks Brooks Koepka should have handled his criticism directly as opposed to through the media. Koepka is the captain of LIV Golf’s Smash GC team, and told Sports Illustrated earlier this week that he’s “basical…

Soon after he bolted to the Saudi-backed tour and joined Koepka’s team whose creed is to “fight like family”, as per Daily Mail. The young American noted that his mental health has been an issue and anyone whose competing at the highest level should understand what it takes to continuously perform at his top best.

He admitted that his performance has been poor so far, but he has already started improving on it and has also made progress. He called out Koepka stating he was very enthusiastic when he decided to join his team, but his comments on social media were “beyond disappointing to me.”

Brooks Koepka was a bully and coward for picking on the one teammate he would dare yell at. He's clearly not a team player. Ripping a guy publicly by staging an orchestrated attack with a reporter is not a team guy.

Wolff expressed how heartbroken he was to learn of Koepka’s comments through the media that “our team leader has given up on me”. But despite all challenges, the 2019 3M Open winner stated with confidence that he’ll never give up on himself no matter what anyone says and will surely stand tall on the field soon.

It’s ironic how the merger deal brought LIV-PGA to work together while rifts started forming amid teammates. It’s unlikely that the war between Koepka and Wolff will end anytime soon, at least not until the American golfer has produced extraordinary results on the field.
