Obsessed With This Dress: Cynthia Nixon In Carolina Herrera

Each season, there are a few dresses I put on a mental checklist of stuff I can't wait to see on the red carpet as I watch them come down the runway. When Carolina Herrera's fall 2010 collection walked way back in February, I was dying to see who would show up in a stunning one-sleeve brushstroke gown that was one of the final looks. It took close to a year, but Cynthia Nixon finally does it beautiful justice...
Celebrities are seen hanging out backstage at the Susan G. Komen Global Awards and 30th Anniversary at the Kennedy Center.

PAPSFIRST/Splash NewsNothing about this gown--which the Sex and the City star wore to a 30th anniversary event for Honoring the Promise, benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation--is traditional, and yet she looks like the picture of timeless elegance. From the chocolate brown and ivory brushstroke detail to the one sleeve silhouette to the red bustier peeking out from underneath, I'm officially obsessed. I don't know that I would have paired it with long gloves, but they're not taking too much away from the look for me, so I don't mind.

What do you think of this dress, ladies? Do you put it squarely in the "work of art" category, like I do, or is it just not your speed? How do you think Cynthia pulls it off? Would you wear it? Discuss!
