‘No Omah Lay, Fireboy’: Davido predicts 5 next big singers, stirs reactions

Famous Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly called Davido, has set social media on fire after naming five singers he believes will be the next big artistes in Nigeria.

In a recent interview with Omega, Davido was asked to list the next five big Nigerian artistes. However, in his response, he left out Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, and Tems, sparking outrage on social media.

The singer mentioned Rema, Buju, Asake Ayra Starr, and Ruger as the artistes he believes will dominate the music industry as the next big five.

“I would say like the next big five. I would say Rema; he got the ‘Calm Down’ record, Buju (BNXN), Ayra Starr…I would say Victony. No, no, me I no want jones o. Okay, let’s do it like this. It’s Rema, Buju, Asake; between him and Rema, I would say they are at the top…Ayra Starr and Ruger. The future of afrobeats, I would say it’s crazy,” he said.
