The Spider-Man Universe consists of various storylines and characters. There are ten in total when it comes to films led by Spider-Man himself
Eight of those are live-action — three led by Tobey Maguire, two by Andrew Garfield, and three by Tom Holland. Two of them are animated flicks that feature a variety of Spideys.
The Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) is the first-ever animated Spider-Man movie. The second animated film is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
The good news is that the third film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is also in the works. There’s a lot that fans can expect from this film.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller Teased a Satisfying Conclusion for the Upcoming Animated Spider-Man Movie
Back in 2021, writer-producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller said that they had too many ideas for the upcoming Spider-Man animated feature. So, it’s for sure that this film will be a bang.
Now, the Spider-Verse creative duo again teased what fans can expect from Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. As Lord told Deadline:
“It will be a very satisfying conclusion. It goes even more emotionally deep into the relationships between Miles, Gwen, Peter B., [and Miles’] parents.”
The story of the film will be centered around Miles Morales/Spider-Man. For that, Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will return as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy.
As the producer states “all your favorites are back” in the film. So, it means Nicolas Cage might be homecoming as Spidey again? As with the above statement, it looks like the creative duo wants to give a satisfying conclusion to the flick so, maybe he teased the return of Cage?
Will Nicolas Cage Return as Spider-Man Noir in the Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?
The Renfield star provided the voice of Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and will return to reprise the role in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Cage’s Spider-Man Noir became an instant fan favorite because he gave a noir twist to the quirky character. Noir is a dark detective Spider-Man who carries pistol guns, unlike his other spider buddies from the multiverse. Cage’s voice for this Spidey version was well appreciated.
Unfortunately, despite his fan-favorite status, he didn’t return to reprise his role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. But he might return in the threequel.
At the end of the second film, Across the Spider-Verse, Gwen gathers her own group of Spider-Men from across the multiverse, including Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker from the first movie.
So, that means Nicolas Cage, John Mulaney, and Kimiko Glenn will reprise their Spidey roles in the next movie. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse doesn’t have a release date as of now, but it won’t be released before March 2024 as originally planned.
