New Leak Claims Killzone Franchise Is Dead, Horizon Series Is A Trilogy

Killzone fans might be super disappointed to hear that they might not see another game at all as the franchise is dead according to a leak.

The wait for a new Killzone game has been going on for a while now, and at one point it seemed like we might even get one. However, that seems to be far from the case.
New Leak Claims Killzone Franchise Is Dead, Horizon Series Is A Trilogy
According to reliable leaker oopsleaks on Twitter, we might not see the Killzone franchise ever again. In a series of tweets, the leaker reveals some interesting details about some IPs of Sony. When it comes to the Killzone games, it simply states that it is “dead.” Considering the fact that some of these games have been quite popular and still have a massive following to date, this news would disappoint quite a lot of fans out there.

However, there is some good news as well. The leaker goes on to state the plans of Guerilla games, adding the fact that we will be seeing another title in the franchise at the very least since it will be a trilogy. What’s even more exciting is the fact that they state that the developers could release an online standalone game as well, which would be based on something along the lines of Monster Hunter: World. Sony seems to be considering the Horizon games as the main franchise, so that would mean we will be seeing a lot more of it in the coming days.
Lastly, it also states that Guerilla Games is working on a competitive shooter. The game is already three years into development and leads from Rainbow Six Siege are involved in it. There is a bit of ambiguity around this leak, as there is some doubt whether it is a SOCOM game or a Horizon game, but we should be getting more information soon enough.
