Motorcycle passenger killed, driver hurt following crash

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — A 21-year-old woman is dead and a 20-year-old man is seriously hurt after the motorcycle they were on was involved in a crash in Tarpon Springs, police said in a release. 

Police said 21-year-old Alina Faillois Chavez of Holiday was a passenger riding on a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle with 20-year-old Jaden Jackson of Holiday driving. At some point, the motorcycle was hit by the 30-year-old driver of a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. 

Chavez suffered fatal injuries in the crash and died at the scene, police said. Jackson reportedly suffered serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment. 

Police said no one inside the SUV was hurt in the crash.
