LEGO Fortnite Players Are Getting Annoyed Already

LEGO Fortnite is indubitably one of the most popular online video games. Epic Games developed the game, which is available on almost all platforms. It has been a pioneer in the Battle Royale genre right alongside PUBG: Battlegrounds.
Something that keeps Fortnite interesting for veteran players and new ones alike is promotional campaigns, events, and brand collaborations, which lead to some exciting in-game content for the title. Fortnite has hosted virtual concerts from the biggest celebrities and collaborated with the most well-known brands from almost all categories. A recent collaboration on December 7 was when the multiplayer title collaborated with LEGO, but now players are voicing their dislike already.
The LEGO Fortnite Experience is experiencing a drop in player count
Since Fortnite has had a build element in the game for quite some time while also providing the classic no-build mode, partnering with LEGO was undoubtedly a fantastic move by the developers. However, some limitations about the experience in the title have dissatisfied players looking to channel their inner LEGO master builder.
SUGGESTEDCall of Duty’s Most Divisive Weapon Makes an Appearance in FortniteThe player count drop for the LEGO Fortnite experience is attributed to the game imposing a build limit cap on its players. Many players reported that the title prevents them from finishing their in-game masterpieces because building shenanigans would be halted by an error. The mode took creative inspiration from the popular sandbox survival title Minecraft, initially developed by an indie developer, Mojang.
Players were letting their imagination run wild as they created some of the most impressive structures, for example, the Avengers Tower in the game without any issues. However, when some players decided to turn the complexity of their build plan to 11, the build limit error seemed to ruin their plans.
A user shared a post on Reddit with over 600 upvotes. It was an attempt to escalate this issue and to be noticed by the dev team. The post’s author also wrote that they built a massive castle with 30 rooms and their interiors. They called it the biggest disgrace in gaming and shared that they had planned to expand the architecture by building a town around it and inviting other players to help them out with it. Then, appearing crestfallen, they mentioned that the picture they shared was just the base of their elaborate plan.

Just me or is the build limit super inconsistent? Sometimes i see these absolutely giantic mansions that cover the world and they reach the build limit and then i see this (very cool) but smaller in comparison castle and it also reaches the build limit?
It is worth noting that the LEGO Fortnite experience was meant to encourage building as the sole purpose, incorporating endless possibilities without an apparent build limit. It seems like the developers delivered on the vision but only partially leading to a lackluster offering on their part.
The comments under the original post also shared a similar backdrop, voicing why they were no longer interested in the game’s building experience due to the build limit. It is worth noting that while LEGO Fortnite at its core is an eSports title that isn’t considered very demanding, it is still much more resource-heavy than the likes of survival sandboxes like Minecraft.
The latter achieves seamless building and almost non-existent capping on complexity due to its pixelated art design and a relatively low polygon count. On the other hand, LEGO Fortnite was created from scratch, keeping building into account. That is why it is possible that the developers imposed this complexity limit to prevent excessive load on the hardware for the machine running it.
This makes even more sense, considering the game is available on last-gen platforms. Regardless, it is visible that the fans are unhappy and demanding that the team behind the title fix it or give a definite reason or a concrete ceiling for the limits one can not breach within LEGO Fortnite.
