‘Learn to communicate in English’: Destiny Etiko urges Yoruba-speaking colleagues

Nollywood actress, Destiny Etiko, has appealed to her Yoruba colleagues to use English when engaging with the general public.

The actress said this in a video posted on her Instagram story.

Destiny Etiko noted that many of her colleagues use their native dialect to communicate, which creates barriers to communication.

She urged them to learn how to effectively communicate in either English or a simplified version of the language known as broken English.

“I just don’t know why whenever you are speaking to Yoruba people, they will always want to speak Yoruba. Ehhhhh I don’t understand even on blogs.

“You all will be speaking Yoruba like everyone is Yoruba. You guys should try and speak English or broken,” she said.
