It's no secret that chokers are officially back—but now, they're making their way into holiday decor. "Accessorizing ornaments in the same vain is nothing short of brilliant," Sixx says. She suggests starting with a variety of ribbon strips—like snakeskin, velvet, and leather. Using a hot glue gun, glue the ribbon base around the center of the ornament. (If you’ve got a narrow strip, wrap around the ornament a few times to get a wider effect at the center. ) Then, hot glue on a choker centerpiece, such as a gothic cross pendant, a jewel cluster, starburst, or agate stones.

Patent Leather Ornaments

We love a good patent leather boot or jacket (and there have been some to-die-for options courtesy of Yeezy, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Dior, and Proenza Schouler). Now, your Christmas tree can also have a killer patent leather accessory. Working with any color patent ("except clear, which ends up looking like plastic wrap for leftovers," Sixx warns), cut the fabric to into a circle that's about two inches larger than the ornament is all around. Place the fabric face-down, and then place the ornament in the center. Gather the fabric around ornament so that shiny surface is facing out, and make neat pleats and gathers as you cover the ornament. Using 1/8-inch velvet ribbon in the same color as fabric, wrap it tightly around the neck of the ornament multiple times and secure the end with hot glue. To finish, spread the excess fabric up top into a neat tuft. (We think Kanye would approve.)
