Is Kim Kardashian the villain of The Kardashians season four? Not long after drawing the internet’s ire for telling Kourtney Kardashian that the pregnant woman’s children (and the rest of their family) talk shit about her behind her back, Kim managed to upset people with new statements about her own children.
During the latest episode of the reality series, which dropped on Hulu on October 19, the 42-year-old reality star discussed a recent mother-son “soccer tour” she organized for her seven-year-old son, Saint West. The mom of four shares two sons—Saint and 4-year-old Psalm—as well as two daughters—North, 10, and Chicago, 5—with ex-husband Kanye West. It turns out she may enjoy parenting her boys a bit more than the girls—at least, that’s what the internet thought she implied.
“My son Saint has a newfound obsession, love for soccer, so I decided I want to plan this legendary trip of a lifetime,” she told producers. “I love my girls, but a girl, like, steals your clothes and has an attitude, y’know? There’s nothing like being a boy mom. Like, seriously, it’s the best.”

The term boy mom gets thrown around a lot online and is often negatively associated with the types of women who show preferential treatment to their sons or exhibit jealousy toward their own daughters or their son’s partners. Think of women who talk about hating daughters-in-law who don’t even exist yet or, in the case of Kim Kardashian, claim women are prettier when pregnant with boys because girls “take the beauty to give it to themselves.” Yes, Kim said those words to Kylie Jenner during the season one premiere of The Kardashians in 2022.
So yeah, people thought Kim’s describing raising boys as “the best” definitely put her in the “boy mom” category—but not in a good way. “I’m not a typical mom, I’m a boy mom,” one Reddit user wrote in a thread about the episode, per BuzzFeed News. “Lmao I rolled my eyes so hard,” anitger replied, specifically referencing Kardashian’s “girls have an attitude” quote. Another commented, “I think she’s more worried about her daughters stealing her spotlight.”
