Just shortened my putter. | Golf Monthly

I own a Taylor Made putter, have had it several months and up til today have been considering offloading it as I couldn't get on with it.

Today I took the putter into the pro shop at my course. Told him I was having trouble with it and that I felt it was a bit too long for me.
He asked me to address the ball as if putting and asked me to grip the putter as if I was making a putt. My hands were well down the handle, so much so my index finger was on the steel shaft.
We agreed a reduction in shaft length of 2" would mean my hands were totally on the grip.
Went inside the club house for a quick brew and left the putter with him.

Handed over a fiver for his services and took the shortened putter out onto the course for my round.

What a transformation!!!!

I was nailing 4, 5 & 6 footers which I would have missed for sure with the longer shaft.
