Jujutsu Kaisen: What Makes Rika So Powerful to Even Make King of Curses Sukuna Sweat in Battle?

Since the beginning of the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, Ryomen Sukuna, the main antagonist, has been showcased as one of the most powerful characters in the series. Sukuna’s power is understood to exceed any limitations, earning him the title “King of Curses“.

However, as the series progressed forward, we were introduced to the character of Rika Orimoto, a childhood friend of Yuta Okkotsu who stuck with him as a special grade curse after she, unfortunately, passed away in an accident. She as a cursed spirit possessed great powers, earning her the title of “Queen of Curses“, someone we believe even Sukuna would have a hard time dealing with.

Rika Orimoto also played a huge role in helping Yuta win against Suguru Geto, helping him defend from all the cursed spirits Geto threw at them and ultimately saving his life.

What Makes Rika Orimoto So Special In Jujutsu Kaisen

Rika had stuck with Yuta as a curse after she passed away in an accident when they both were children. Her spirit, being cursed, was then transformed into a formidable special-grade vengeful spirit with an unfathomable destructive potential that haunted Yuta till he joined Tokyo Jujutsu High.

While Rika as a human is depicted as a small, fragile girl, her appearance as a cursed spirit brings goosebumps to whoever is unfortunate enough to encounter her.

Her potential as a fully manifested curse was considered to be such a threat that it was doubted if even Gojo Satoru would be able to contain her spirit. It was only until Yuta’s fight against Suguru Geto that we got to see Rika’s full potential, which dominated their opponent in the fight.

Why Rika Orimoto Would Prove To Give Sukuna A Hard Time In A Battle

While a fight between the king and the queen of curses has never been shown in the series and never will be since the curse from Rika’s soul went away after her fight with Suguru Geto, fans still theorize what would happen if there was a showdown between both of these formidable characters in the series.

While Ryomen Sukuna would undoubtedly hold up on his own during the battle, it can be easily said Rika can give Sukuna a hard time in winning the fight as she has incomprehensible destructive power. As mentioned before, it was doubted if even a sorcerer like Gojo Satoru would be able to contain her once fully manifested.

Nevertheless, it should prove to still be a victory for Sukuna due to the simple fact that he is in every way a more experienced fighter than Rika, and while she has a large amount of sheer raw power, it should prove to be a win for Sukuna in the end.
