Jujutsu Kaisen is a story that can change you as a person and is truly nothing short of a masterpiece that began in 2018. The series has been on an unparalleled run and has managed to sell over 80 million copies, gaining a massive chunk of the audience that loves the series and the characters that are in it.
Season 2 of the series is ongoing, and recently, episode 21 of the series was released, which subtly made a change to Itadori’s hairstyle to imply the changes his character went through after witnessing the deaths of so many loved ones and starting to view him as a monster similar to Sukuna.
Itadori’s hairstyle changed and was made similar to Sukuna’s to depict Itadori accepting himself as a monster
Itadori, even though he is the main character of the series, gets relatively little screen time compared to other characters in the story.
Season 2 focused on many different characters, and Itadori only got a few moments to shine; instead of success, he only got misery.
Ever since the curtain was drawn on Shibuya, Itadori’s life has been turned upside down as he saw his sensei getting sealed, Nanami, who was his mentor, getting killed, as well as Nobara, who was a victim of Mahito.
Itadori Yuji, a pure soul, could not comprehend the evilness of the villains who would kill people without a second thought. Itadori always rejected the idea of becoming like them.
However, things have changed recently, and Itadori is no longer afraid to become a demon if it means slaying the curses and killing Sukuna once and for all.
To depict this, Itadori’s hairstyle was changed in the latest episode from his normal one and was made similar to Ryomen Sukuna.
The change was meant to depict that Itadori has already accepted that he has blood on his hands and is also a monster, just like every other character in the series.
What happened in episode 21 of Jujutsu Kaisen?
Jujutsu Kaisen episode 21 was one of the best episodes of the series and focused on concluding the battle between Mahito, Todo, and Itadori.
Since the joining of Todo, the tides have changed due to his boogie-woogie technique, which allows him to swap faces, which has caused a lot of problems for Mahito.
However, Mahito is one of the most potent curses in the series and can keep up with them. When he finally saw an opening, he took it by creating a domain expansion of 0.02 seconds.
In that timeframe, he touched Todo’s hand, which Todo quickly severed to stop the curse from spreading.
We also saw Mahito’s final appearance in the entire series, as Yuji Itadori surpassed him and gave him hell.
Towards the end of the episode, we see Kenjaku joining in at the last moment as Mahito’s hope, and it would be interesting to see what happens in the story in the future.
Itadori has already accepted that he has blood on his hands, is also a monster, and is similar to Mahito.
