Good morning, diners.  Bacon, eggs, and black coffee, Brunhilda.

I got the dog walked this morning before the snow gets too bad.  It's coming down hard today, and more predicted this week.  We'll end up about a foot deep by the time the system moves on.

Bear, those balloon photos are great.  They must have had a great time.  Not something that is on my bucket list.

David, that's great that the elevator has helped your wife.  She (and you) have certainly had more than her share of health problems.  Hope she continues to have good days.

Mike, that is probably every father's greatest worry when kids start driving.  I know that I trusted my daughters' driving, but I sure worried about the other clowns who seem to think they're invincible in their car.  It sounds like your daughter was trained right to be watching ahead in a defensive manner.  Good for her!

I live just a few miles from I-80.  The speed limit near us is 75mph, and the traffic usually moves smoothly along about 80mph.  Being one of the main coast-to-coast highways, the traffic is heavy with steady streams of trucks.  The state police just put out a report that over the past several months, they have stopped hundreds (over a thousand in the past year) going well over 100mph.  They are weaving in and out of 80mph semis and cars.  They are absolutely nuts.  It's a worry when my kids and grandkids visit us, and I know they will be coming and going in that mess.

I'm predicting San Francisco wins the whole thing this year

There aren't too many pro teams that I dislike, but I really hate the Forty-niners.  It goes back to the years that San Francisco and New Orleans were in the same division.  I didn't like their team, I didn't like their owners, and I really didn't like their fans.

MisterBeasley and Dave, the four traps were empty this morning.  I was hoping to end this quickly.  My biggest issue right now is being able to place the traps where the dog won't stick her curious nose and get a painful surprise.

I don't want to head out, but my wife has an important meeting with her doctor and she doesn't want to drive in the snow, so I will take her.  I was hoping the hospital would call and postpone the visit, but I think they want us to keep this appointment.

I hope everyone has a great day today.  Tomorrow -- snowblower day.

I know this isn't tropical, but it sure looks like it.  From the New York Botanical Garden Christmas display:
