Roy Cash

Born in 1921 in Kingsland, Arkansas, Roy Bradsher Cash Sr. was more than just Johnny Cash’s elder brother; he served as a musical mentor, confidant, and unwavering support throughout Johnny’s life.

From an early age, music wove through their lives.

Roy, with his gentle nature and innate musical talent, taught Johnny his first chords, introduced him to gospel, and fostered his passion for storytelling through song.

Although Roy’s musical career didn’t soar to the same heights as Johnny’s, he penned several songs, played in local bands, and even joined Johnny on the iconic Folsom Prison concert in 1968.

Beyond the realm of music, Roy stood as Johnny’s rock.

During Johnny’s battles with addiction and personal demons, Roy provided guidance and remained a constant source of love and encouragement.

Tommy Cash

Cash, born in Dyess, Arkansas, was the youngest of seven siblings, including Johnny Cash.

He formed his first band in high school, later served in the U.S. Army as a DJ, and gained a record deal in 1965.

His biggest hit, “Six White Horses,” came in 1969.

Cash continued his music career with top-10 singles in 1970, and his last top-20 hit was in 1973.

He remains active in the music industry, also acting in the 2016 film “The River Thief.”

As a licensed realtor in Tennessee, he represented the sale of Johnny Cash’s home in 2003.

Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash, born J. R. Cash, was a legendary American country singer-songwriter with a distinctive bass-baritone voice.

Known as the “Man in Black,” he achieved fame in the 1950s, becoming one of the best-selling artists across genres like country, rock, blues, and gospel.

His music often delved into themes of sorrow and redemption, featuring signature songs like “Folsom Prison Blues,” “I Walk the Line,” and “Ring of Fire.”

Raised in poverty during the Great Depression, Cash’s early life shaped his empathy for the working class.

Enlisting in the Air Force in 1950, he served in Germany, forming his first band.

Despite hardships, Cash’s enduring impact on music is evident, portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix in the biopic “Walk the Line.”

Margret Louise Cash

Margaret Louise Cash was born in Kingsland, Cleveland, Arkansas, United States, on March 1, 1924.

At the time of her birth, her father, Raymond Grant Cash, was 26 years old, and her mother, Carrie Cloveree Rivers, was 19.

She entered into matrimony with Jordan Joseph Garrett on March 14, 1946, in Shelby, Tennessee, United States.

During the year 1950, she resided in Deep Creek, Norfolk, Virginia, United States, and in 1985, she lived in Gallatin, Sumner, Tennessee, United States.

Margaret passed away on April 4, 2003, in Hendersonville, Sumner, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 79.

She was interred in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Bellevue, Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee, United States.

Reba Hancock

Reba Cash Hancock, 72, of Hendersonville, passed away on March 5.

Preceded in death by parents Ray and Carrie Cash, son Ricky Lynn Burlison, brothers Roy, Jack, and John R Cash, sister Louise Cash Garrett.

Survived by sons Timothy Paul Hancock (Jennifer) and Donny Wayne Burlison (Sandy), daughter Kelly Leigh Hancock, brother Tommy Cash (Marcy), sister Joanne (Harry) Cash Yates, grandchildren Nathan Zachary Hancock, Ben, Aaron, Carson Burlison, Ashley McClendon, and Daniel Shawn Burlison Blackburn, and great-grandchildren Brooke, Shelby, Alexa, and Katelyn Burlison. Funeral services on March 8 at Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

Interment at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers include Benny, Aaron, and Carson Burlison, and others. Honorary pallbearers include family members and friends. Arrangements by Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home. Sister of Johnny Cash.

Joanne Cash

Joanne Cash, born in Northern Ireland, studied English Literature at Oxford before becoming a barrister specializing in libel and privacy.

Notable for representing figures like Elle Macpherson, she’s recognized in Vogue’s influential women list.

A member of the Society of Conservative Lawyers, Joanne joined the Conservative Party in 2006 and was selected for Westminster North.

Despite controversy in 2010, she continued her campaign but didn’t win, attributing the loss to media misinformation.

Post-politics, Joanne co-founded Parent Gym, focusing on parental skills and child wellbeing.

She later became a director and chair of the Mind Gym board. Married to Octavius Black, they live in Notting Hill with their daughter.
