The fact that Apple Music was missing on the PlayStation Store despite being one of the most popular music streaming apps out there, was quite surprising. We have finally got Apple Music on PlayStation 5, but there are still some questions some fans are looking for the answers to.
Is Apple Music Available on PlayStation 4?
While the latest announcement got a large number of fans excited, there is still a section of people who are a bit confused. The announcement mentions that Apple Music will be making its way to PlayStation 5, but there is no mention of a PlayStation 4 release.
When Apple TV was brought to PlayStation 5 consoles last year, it was explicitly mentioned that Apple TV is coming to both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This time around, we don’t see any announcement as such, so in all probability, Apple Music is exclusive to PlayStation 5 for now.
That being said, PlayStation 4 owners are not totally cut off from music streaming apps, as Spotify is already available on PlayStation 4 for years now. That being said, the omission of Apple Music’s launch for PlayStation 4 seems to give the impression that it is about time that last-generation consoles will be phased out. While Sony is still infrequently bringing updates to the PS4, it won’t be long before that stops as well.
