In celebration of the Xbox 360's 17th birthday, Hyperkin has announced that it'll be launching an officially licensed replica of the original Xbox 360 controller in four colours next year.
After resurrecting the original 'Duke' Xbox controller in 2018, which also received 20th-anniversary editions in 2021, Hyperkin has announced (thanks, IGN) that it's bringing the original Xbox 360 controller back into our hands.Hyperkin set to launch original Xbox 360 controller for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
Hyperkin hasn't revealed the release date, price, or many details about the upcoming controller, but keeping in line with alternative terminology for the controllers like it did with the Duke, this replica will be called the Hyperkin Xenon — the Xbox 360's codename before its reveal in 2005. It'll be a Designed for Xbox accessory and will be compatible with Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PCs, sporting modern features like the Menu, View, and Share buttons found on the latest Xbox controllers.
The wired Hyperkin Xenon will be available in black, white, red, and pink colour schemes, and is expected to launch sometime in 2023. If you decide to pick up the controller next year, Xbox Game Pass is loaded with plenty of backwards-compatible Xbox 360 games, which will serve as a perfect nostalgia hit. Although, there are tons of current-generation games coming to Game Pass next year as well.
