LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When the much-anticipated SKIMS Swim collection debuted in March 2022, it sold out before many of us could even visit the website. It's over a year later, with weeks of holidays and Summer Fridays still ahead, and those elusive SKIMS swimsuits from Kim Kardashian's very own line, have fans anxious about their waterproof feature and wondering how to wash them.
On Reddit, a Kardashian-Jenner fan page shared a customer review regarding Kim's swim line and its waterproof feature, as they wrote, "She can't be serious. Sharing a screenshot of a customer review, the picture had captions like, "She can't be serious."
"I need an actual swimsuit for vacation so I gotta get rid of this".
Reacting to the review, fans asked, "Is it made out of rice paper ???"
While one sighed, "Sometimes I wonder if the Kardashians are just some sort of super longform absurdist performance art troupe because this is too stupid for reality."

Another user quipped, "So a swimsuit you can’t swim in and have to dry clean. That makes sense."

Despite the fact that the owners of SKIMs recommend that you rinse the swimsuit with cold water after using it, fans are still left confused about the washing instructions for a waterproof material.

SKIMS, Kim's clothes and shapewear company, has been accused of misleading customers by utilizing greenwashing practices on parts of its packaging. Photos on Greenwash.com, a website run by the Changing Markets Foundation, show a SKIMS product container clearly labeled with multiple statements claiming the product's supposed eco-friendliness.
The foundation, which was established to harness consumer markets to promote sustainability solutions, discovered no evidence to back SKIMS' claims of environmental friendliness.
The package has a triangular number 4 recycling sign, indicating that it is composed of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) type 4 plastic.
SKIMS is essentially greenwashing, which occurs when firms spend more time and money attempting to project a sustainable image than on actual tangible efforts to lessen their negative environmental effect.
As a result, customers are given erroneous or selective information that misleads them and leads to rash purchasing decisions – even when they were deliberately aiming to do the opposite.
According to the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network, more than 40% of environmentally sound statements are manipulative, misleading, or outright inaccurate, making greenwashing an all-too-common practice.
Who owns most of SKIMS?
Kim, Jens Grede, and Emma Grede are the co-founders of SKIMS.
Kim controls an undisclosed percentage of the corporation, with Jens as the second-largest stakeholder.
