How To Find GO Gym Trainers During Pokemon GO Tour Johto

Pokemon GO Tour Johto has a lot of elements to it and one of them is the introduction of what are known as GO Gym Trainers.

Gym leaders have been an essential part of the core Pokemon series over the years, but the version of Gyms in Pokemon GO have been pretty basic where teams can take them over.

For the GO Tour Johto event however, Niantic is trying something a bit different with a variation of a previous feature with the addition of GO Gym Trainers for the day.

What Are GO Gym Trainers?

Like we saw during GO Tour Kanto last year and even with other variations like the Fashion Challenges before, GO Gym Trainers are special in-game trainers for Pokemon GO that are based on real world trainers.

These trainers were picked from the many that were submitted by players based on their own teams, but what is special with these is that they are themed after the eight gym leaders in the Johto region from Pokemon Gold and Silver.

Each of the GO Gym Trainers will have three Pokemon that were based on the roster of three that each chosen trainer submitted.

How To Find GO Gym Trainers During GO Tour Johto

While the GO Gym Trainers are a little different from the trainers we saw in GO Tour Kanto, they can be found in exactly the same way.

While walking around catching Pokemon during GO Tour Johto, keep an eye out for every PokeStop around you, as any of them may house one of the GO Gym Trainers.

Just like with a Team GO Rocket member, spin the PokeStop to take you into battle with the three Pokemon held by the GO Gym Trainer housed there.

From early reports, these are not the easier things to find, so make sure to plan on walking and going to different areas during Pokemon GO Tour Johto if you plan on completing the associated Timed Research.
