An Indiana House committee voted 8-5 against a Sunday alcohol sales Wednesday morning, putting the bill off the table for this legislative session.
In addition to alcohol sales on Sunday, the bill would have required grocery and convenience stores to keep alcohol separated from toys, school supplies and candy.
The package liquor store lobby argued that letting grocery and convenience stores sell on Sunday would lead to less regulation and give the competition a greater share of the market.
