Is Ugliest House in America Cancelled?

We have some good news for owners of ugly homes and fans of Ugliest House in America: the series has not been cancelled, and it's coming back! Retta and Alison Victoria confirmed they will both be returning for season six of the HGTV show.

The network announced that Ugliest House in America was renewed for a new six-episode season. The bad news? It won't return until 2025.

However, HGTV also announced a new spin-off series tied to the show. Retta will host the new four-episode spinoff series Scariest House in America. Instead of searching for the ugliest house, Retta will venture inside scary, haunted, and bone-chilling homes in search of the scariest house in America. In Ugliest House of America fashion, the house with the most scare quality will be designed by Alison Victoria in the series finale.

Retta admitted she initially wasn't keen on the ideal of a spooky spin-off, but begrudgingly agreed. "Not sure how I got roped into this," she said. "I don't do scary. I don't like to be scared. I don't like scary movies. Halloween is my least favorite holiday but here we are."

Of course, the perfect time for a spooky spin-off is spooky season. As fans await the next season of Ugliest House in America, they can look forward to Scariest House in America, premiering October 2024, just in time for Halloween!
