Your own Christmas wish list for this coming season should include the book Florence & Cripple Creek Railroad: Forty Miles To Fortune by Alan C. Lewis. This was published by Sundance Publications in 2002. If you're not familiar with Sundance Publications, they produce very high quality books, mostly about Colorado rail topics. Their books are not cheap, but contain very high quality photo reproductions.
That text advises that two waycars were built for the Florence & Cripple Creek in 1899 by the Michigan-Peninsular Car Company (a subsidiary of American Car & Foundry). They were numbered #5 and #6 and both were identical short 8-wheel cars. 16' in length over the end walls and about 22' in overall length; width about 7 ft. 7 inches; Westinghouse air brakes. Both cars were painted oxide red with chrome-yellow lettering, including the "Gold Belt Line" herald. The later lettering style dropped the gold belt herald and had the RR name in an arch on the centered lower portion of the car. The book includes a photo of the interior of Caboose #6.
The photo links in the previous posts appear to be accurate to what is shown in the book. There are two windows on the side, relatively high and not on the cupalo end. The "G" item in SW Chief's post appears to be able to lead to a close representation with the adaption of putting two windows per side instead of just the one that is on the model as manufactured.
