Fans believe there is another upcoming star in Hollywood, who was given his first major break by Netflix, through One Piece Live Action. He played the role of Monkey D. Luffy and nailed it to perfection. The actor is none Iñaki Godoy. Even though One Piece Live Action was released five to six months back, he is still a darling to the fans.
Netflix has always promoted new faces and helped them get their first break. Several actors and actresses became popular worldwide after working with Netflix. The first name that comes to mind is Millie Bobby Brown. She starred in Netflix’s Stranger Things and went on to become one of the upcoming stars in Hollywood.
Iñaki Godoy’s Popularity Has Skyrocketed
Through Netflix’s One Piece Live Action, Iñaki Godoy has earned his spotlight, and his popularity has been on the rise. He became a global star at just 20 years old. Monkey D. Luffy is one of the most popular anime characters of all time, and people were skeptical after the live-action series was announced. But Godoy’s love for Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus and the mangaka helped him overcome his fears and give his best performance.

After a successful debut on Netflix, fans think that Godoy could soon land his first major project in Hollywood and follow the steps of Millie Bobby Brown. Iñaki Godoy is from Mexico and can speak Spanish. During an interview with Teen Vogue, he mentioned that his Spanish voice is deeper than his English voice. It could be a massive game changer for him, considering he is multilingual. After a stellar performance, Netflix has renewed One Piece for a second season.
The second season is under production. Even Millie Bobby Brown had to wait a few seasons before becoming a known face. Moreover, Netflix has a great record when it comes to producing some massive stars. With a couple more seasons, Godoy would have a pretty strong work record. Fans are hopeful that they get to see real-life Luffy on the big screen soon.

While the fans are wishing him the best of luck, Hollywood is keeping an eye on his progress. It might be soon that he is seen in a bigger role. Many might fear that the popularity might get to his head, and he might leave One Piece Live Action in between. But after watching the cast through the interviews, especially Iñaki Godoy, it looks like they are in for the long haul.
