Guide for Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions

With everything out of the way, let's get down to the pictures. Similar to Glass Masquerade 1, I am not going to go through every individual piece. It's more complicated than it's worth for everyone involved. Instead, here's the general idea to using the guide:
- Go to the Puzzle on the Map - This can be a little annoying as the controls aren't too precise for navigation
- Note the Puzzle Name (i.e. All Around You)
- Go to that puzzle name below in the walkthrough
- Make sure you are on Hard Mode
- Place the 8 Ringed Pieces
This gets you started. From there I have a couple ways to go about this. This will assume you're using the pictures some places, but it also works for generally playing:
- Look for pieces with arcs that line up to the edges. If using the picture, it can be easier to find where to fit them in without having to guess.
- Find unique notches. As you add more pieces, the cutouts of the pieces guide you where to go. If you can see these unique differences, you can use the outlines of pieces to find what is next. This doesn't require using the images and is how I tackled the game.
- Rotate the rings around to find the outline you're looking for. This is a practiced art.
- I did find myself get a bit of tunnel vision when I focused on the desired outlines and thus missed pieces that were also possible (I only know this as friends watching me stream the game usually saw placements before I noticed).
- If slowly using the images, I'd recommend the following:
- Grab a Larger Piece
- Look at the unique color pattern on the piece
- Compare it to the image shown below
- When you find where it lines up, rotate it to the correct orientation
- Place the piece
Step 5 can be a little difficult as you could be aiming for a spot out in the open. The best thing I can recommend here is to use the lines created by connecting the north/south and east/west lines to give a bit of a crosshair. It still can be difficult, but it will give a general idea for starting.
About 50% of the way through the puzzles, you'll gain access to a puzzle named Tatters and Shards. You will see a ##/88. This corresponds to the 88 pieces of the puzzle. Technically, you cannot complete this puzzle until you have completed all the other puzzles and acquired all the pieces. We will come back to this when we have completed all of the other 30 puzzles.

A Crooked Mile - 58 Pieces
An Interest of Conflicts - 67 Pieces
Tatters and Shards - 88 Pieces
The last one. If you didn't read previously, this puzzle is a bit different:
- You MUST complete all previous puzzles to do this one. Each puzzle you complete grants you "shards" which are actually pieces for this puzzle. You need to have an 88/88 to truly be able to complete the puzzle.
- This is the ONLY puzzle in the game without any rings to start with. As such, it is the most complicated to get a grip on. To tackle this puzzle, I would recommend the following - aim for the edges. There are numerous pieces with a curved edge that could line up nicely along the sides. That was the best way I could find to start. It's a slow go, but one you get a start you can start with the normal method for completing everything.
After completing this puzzle, I had completed all the puzzles associated with the 5th Arm of the Illusions Map and also unlocked the achievement: Dream Weaver. It is NOT possible to complete more puzzles as Tatters requires all previous puzzles to be done for the achievement to be possible:
As you have now completed all the puzzles in the game, you will also unlock:
NOTE: These 3 acheivements unlocked in a very different order for me and 'Tatters and Shards' actually unlocked on the credits screen rather than with the others. I'm not sure if this is going to be the same for everyone, but I wanted to mention it just in case it's slightly delayed for you and you might be concerned.
But with that done, CONGRATS!!! There's another game done and another 1000 GS to your collection. Hopefully you enjoyed the game as much as I did.
