Goodwill opens new south side outlet store

The new Goodwill outlet is on Emerson Avenue, just south of County Line Road near I-65. This is the fourth outlet in central Indiana.

Goodwill Industries has opened a new outlet store on the south side.

The new Goodwill outlet is on Emerson Avenue, just south of County Line Road near I-65. This is the fourth outlet in central Indiana.

The facility will sell last-chance merchandise, but will also serve as a transportation facility that manages 14 smaller stores.

Goodwill says the store will have more of an impact on the community than just good deals.

"What it's all about is not just the jobs that we provide here, but the revenue that's generated from the donations that people make to Goodwill support employment and education in central Indiana. It's huge," said Cindy Graham, vice president of marketing.

Goodwill is hiring roughly 80 new employees to work in the the retail and warehouse sections.
