Virginia was lucky enough to take an eight-hour deep sea fishing trip on th Double Eagle II. About 30 people went along, and the captain, Luke Palmer, rode the boat out for an hour and 10 minutes. After we dropped our lines, the fish came a' bitin'. The Gulf gives up a lot of pan fish-- sea bass, perch, porgies, grunts, and, of course, grouper, on these trips. First Mate Dan Haggerty baited lines, took fish off hooks and showed unique fish to the folks on board. Once off the boat, the crew cleaned and fileted fish for 20 cents a piece, and one dollar for grouper. There are half-day and all day trips.Deep Sea Fishing Trip Tips-Bring motion sickness pills just in case you start to feel dizzy or nauseous-Bring warm, comfortable clothes in caes it's windy or rainy-- layers are key-Remember sun block, sunglasses and consider wearing a hat to protect yourself.-Pack water, lunch and other snacks-Bring a cooler in your car so you have a place for your catches on the way home!Double Eagle Deep Sea FishingThe Clearwater Marina (Right off the Roundabout)727-446-1653Check out their website for prices!
