Fatal crash on State Road 60: Mulberry woman killed, deputies say

The westbound lanes on State Road 60 were closed for about three hours.
MULBERRY, Fla. — A 39-year-old woman from Mulberry died from her injuries following a crash Monday evening on State Road 60, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies and Polk County Fire Rescue personnel responded around 6 p.m. to the crash scene at S.R. 60 at Cornet Road.
Audry Hills, who was driving a Kia sedan, was trying to make a left turn onto eastbound S.R. 60 when she crossed into the path of an oncoming Ford truck, driven by a 29-year-old man from Dundee, Florida, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
Hills and a 40-year-old male passenger in her car were taken to an area hospital, however, the 39-year-old woman had died, the sheriff's office continued.
The Dundee man received minor injuries in the crash. It's believed that a 26-year-old female passenger in the truck was not hurt.
Westbound State Road 60 was closed for about three hours and has since reopened to traffic.
