So I was at the range last night, they do an informal group coaching session, where you get to use all the teaching kit, albeit briefly as it is a group session. Anyhow, I went into the video room and they had an explanar device, I mentioned I'd not used one before and the coach said it may be a good idea to give it a go, so we got it setup, and I had a few swings.

It felt very weird, but it did help in getting my sequencing correct, then I hit a couple of balls and the difference in my swing path, by replicating what I had just done on the explanar was chalk and cheese on the video replay, before, I was fishing or chopping wood, after my swing actually looked like a proper golf swing.

However the downside is, in using the explanar, the resulting twisting and contorting of my body has left me with a very sore chest, right down the middle. I suppose it just goes to show, that what I was doing in my swing before hand, the horrible out to in fly fishing technique is/was utter rubbish and following what explanar has shown me while it hurts now has given me the insight that I can get and in to out path and the ball going where I'm lined up, rather than straight left, or sliced right.

Now where's that ibuprofen...?
