Escape Game Fort Boyard Reviews

This is going to be my quick review of Escape Game Fort Boyard. Two quick disclaimers:

1. This review is only based on <1 hour of gameplay. I have not completed this game in any sense of the word and I only played until I got bored of this game.
2. Apparently this was based on a game show called Fort Boyard? I have never seen it and do not get any of the references. It may be more fun if you have seen it.

Story/ Campaign 1/5

This is basically a collection of mini games that are supposed to resemble some kind of game show. The main campaign mode has 4 difficulties, and different lengths to choose. It basically resembles a TV game show with its mini games. I finished the easiest mode on the shortest campaign in about 15-20 mins. The mini games seem random but the last challenge is based on your performance in the mini games. I can't say too much about how it works exactly since I didn't exactly pay attention.

Graphics/ Controls 1/5

This looks like an Xbox 360 game. The graphics are clucky, lots of glitches. A game that was released in 2020 should not look like this. The controls are pretty bad. I only played a handful of challenges and already found lots of flaws. I cannot imagine playing through all of them.

Achievements 4/5

I mean this is really the only reason why you are here. The achievement list is relatively easy and only requires a couple of playthroughs on 2 difficulty modes, as well as playing some mini games that do require some skills. I have not played through the difficult mode or earned the respective achievements so I can't tell you how difficult it would be, but the easy mode was a piece of cake. I got 350GS in about 30 mins. There doesn't seem to be any achievements that require a long grind and its completion time of 5-6 hours seem pretty accurate.

While it has an easy achievement list, it is still a boring mini game collection. There's not much to its gameplay or variation on those challenges. It is definitely not worth its price. I did not spend any money to buy this game and I would highly recommend you to not spend your hard-earned cash on this either.
