Most notably known for playing Starlight in The Boys, Erin Moriarty made a splash in the rated R show, which doesn’t shy away from delving into the darkness. But The Boys wasn’t Moriarty’s first introduction to the depraved side of comic-book media, as she also played arguably one of the most tortured Marvel characters on-screen.

After Daredevil turned out to be a huge hit, Netflix didn’t waste time working on their next street-level hero with Jessica Jones, which witnessed Moriarty starring alongside Krysten Ritter. And with Daredevil‘s events seemingly canon to the MCU, it has opened the possibility for many returning faces from the Defenders Saga, including Moriarty.

The Possibilities for Erin Moriarty’s MCU Debut Seem Slim

While Erin Moriarty’s Hope Shlottman, who was s-xually abused and forced to kill her parents, ended up sacrificing herself, this doesn’t necessarily mean there’s no chance for her MCU debut. Considering death is no longer a permanent aspect in the MCU, courtesy of the multiverse and alternate timelines, anything is possible if it falls into the MCU’s things of interest.

But considering, apart from Punisher, no other major members of the Defenders aren’t confirmed to jump ships to the MCU yet, speculating Shlottman’s return from the dead does appear a bit far-fetched. However, this isn’t to say hope for Moriarty’s MCU debut is off the cards, as while reacting to a post of being fan-cast as Sue Storm, she expressed anything after The Boys would be a surplus. She said,

“I’m like… already what’s happened for me is surreal. Already what’s happened for me… this is like- this is great. Anything else is surplus.”

While it seems Moriarty will not be headlining Sue Storm in the MCU following the reports of Vanessa Kirby‘s casting, following her shot to fame, it might not be too long before she tunes into Marvel.

Erin Moriarty Is Far From Done With Starlight

While Moriarty was one of the few stars from The Boys that didn’t make an appearance in the spin-off Gen V, the actor expressed she’d be definitely on board with future cameos if they served right by the story. Moriarty further stressed that she wants to stay in this universe forever, stating (via The Direct),

“I want to stay in this universe, in some iteration. I’d stay in it forever. But I think there would be a cool way to enter it when the time is right for our kinds of presence in that world.”

Although time will tell whether Erin Moriarty will break it into the MCU or not, as of now, she is pretty content with her time in The Boys‘ universe.
